Krystal is currently a student at California State University pursuing a degree in 3D media with a specification in metal. In her free time she enjoys doing DIY crafts and going to thrift stores. She has always been drawn to metal and has fallen in love with it. after graduation she doesn’t have a perfect plan but does want to work in some type of industrial design.
I was really drawn to her salt and pepper shakers. They were completely made out of metal and after learning that metal is her focus it was awesome to see a piece like this. They look like just a normal piece of art and as you got closer you saw they actually served a purpose.
After talking with Krystal working with metal was definitely her favorite and she strives to make function pieces along with ones that are appealing to the eye.
My experience at the gallery was very overwhelming this week. It was unclear to what pieces belonged to what artist. But Krystal was very sweet and willing to answer all of our questions. i enjoyed seeing her work and getting to know her a little bit better.
